What is Karma?

Karma is the natural law of the universe. It reminds mankind to the fact that God is fair. The great physicist Sir Isaac Newton introduced us the to the physical law of the universe when he formulated a law that states "Every action must have an equal and opposite reaction." The equivalent theory applies to the law of karma - "For every action or cause there is reaction or effect." The existence of all substances and sentient beings in the cosmos is the product of these causes and effects or karma.
The law of karma can extend to the relationships between all matters occurring among substances or beings. For example, for an event to occurs, there must be some prior incidents that built up the situation, and the relevant opportunity for that event to actually occur. Hence, the formation of the opportunity is the cause, and effect of the event is the result.
Similarly, it applies to human beings. the formation of the relationship extends between the parents and the child. It begins when a life is born and is raised by the parents. The environment and education provided by the parents shape the mind of the child. The result of the memories accumulated in the child becomes that cause, which results in the way the child will treat that parents, and this becomes the effect. Thus, we can see that the law of causality exist in all interactions among substances and beings: causes must produce effects, effects must result from causes. The is the natural law of karma.
