Words to Singles

Is it better to be single or to be married? There are actually advantages and disadvantages to both sides.
If you are married, you make a marriage commitment with spousal responsibilities. When you are married you have to think of someone besides yourself. A husband has to think about how to please his wife. A wife has to think about how to please her husband. That doesn't mean you can't still please the Lord. However, your will be divided among serving the Lord and your families. There will be time limitations in your life that you did not have before.
In 1 Corinthians 7:32–33, "An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord's work and thinking how to please him. But a married man has to think about his earthly responsibilities and how to please his wife."
When you are single, you are mobile. In many ways, you have a lot of free time and free space which also means advantages. Why not use your mobility for God's instrument. Use your free time to serve and make connection to Him.
What you don't want to do is hurry into a relationship with a nonbeliever because you are impatient. Many things will happen when couples are not matched up spiritually. In the weekend, he wants to go to church, but she doesn't. She wants to invited church fellows over for meet up, but he is reluctant because he doesn't like her church friends. He doesn't like the in-law talks about the Lord's messages. Moreover, things get complicated when the couples have children. Which school should the children attend, catholic/christian schools or public school. For Sunday service, she can't take children, as he, the non-believer, allows the children to be home.
In 2 Corinthians 6:14–15, "Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?"
Therefore, if you are a single, please wait on the Lord to bring the right person to your life. Start praying to Lord today. Pray for wisdom to discern the right person and the right moment. Marry the person you think you can grow together under the guidance of Lord. Marry only the individual you think you can grow spiritually.
We all need to walk on the right path. we need to constantly ask the Lord to transform and change us. To be single or married it a question we should patiently wait. This is the way of Tao.
